The Great Debate

People keep asking who Evie looks like. I always say that she looks like Wes, but some just don't see it. Well, after looking at these two pictures, is there any room left for discussion? They even have the same concerned look on their faces!

Let's just hope she ends up with my build :).

I just LOVE saving a buck.

Or $100.
So today I went with my friend Alana to Aeropostale and Kohls. I had a $10 off coupon at Aeropostale, so I got Wes a shirt that normally cost $29.50, on sale for $9.99 and payed $1.05. (I had to buy something else to make the pre-tax total over $10. So I got the cheapest thing in the store- purple underwear ($.99) with white polka dots on them. We'll have to wait till Evie is 12 to use these :). )

We then headed on over to Kohls and Alana was nice enough to give me an extra $10 off coupon that she had! Score! I found the darling purse pictured below for 90% off. The original price was $80! I also got a little patriotic skirt for Evie to wear in July. It was $5 (originally $10). My total came to $2.25 after my 15% off and coupon.

So all in all.....I know y'all can add too.......but I only paid $3.30 and got some useful things for our family! Sorry, I opted not to include the purple panties in the picture!

Evie's 1st Hiking Trip!

We just bought Evie a Kelty KIDS backpacking backpack so we could take her with us on all of our adventures!  She loved it the second we put her inside. Wes and I both love the outdoors. In fact, Wes told me that he wants to go camping every weekend this whole summer! I think that may be a little too much, even for me. But I am exited to go often and to have Evie enjoy it with us.

For her first hike, we decided that she needed an easy trail, so we went up Rock Canyon. It is so beautiful up there, she told us she wants to come back soon.

Her first time in the backpack.

I think she had dreams about being in the mountains the night before we went.
Oh wait, maybe that was me.

Here we are, at the start of the trail!

She was so happy!!!

Don't be deceived into thinking that only boys can do the hard work!
We both took turns carrying her. I know this picture of me is AWFUL...
so please ignore it and just acknowledge that I am hiking with Evie too!

It was such a beautiful day yesterday.
This is the view coming out of Rock Canyon

The Cute One

Evie just woke up, so this will be my last post of the day. Just yesterday I found the charger to charge our camera battery. I sort of went overboard and took a TON of pictures of her. Here are some of my favorites.

She LOVES her cords!

Evie is such a happy baby, I'm sure grateful for that!

Changing table fun

Peek-a-boo!!!

This is how she greets me when she wakes up from her naps.

I can't believe that she is turning into such a kid. I guess they can't be babies forever!

Love you Ev's!

Since I'm at it,

I thought that I might as well keep going. Evie is still sleeping, so I have a little time to post a little more. I thought I would put up a more recent picture because I definitely look different now than what I did with black hair. This is pathetic, but the only recent picture I have is a Christmas one that my friend Ashley took for us. I actually got ready for her to take these- so no one needs to see the all natural me right now!

I never take pictures of myself, only of Evie and Wes. They're more fun to look at anyway. Erin just got MARRIED(!) and our friend Nickell did her photos. She took some of me and Wes in order to get her camera to the right settings. If I can get some pictures from her, I'll post those. Maybe I'll try to have Wes take more pictures that I'm in, for posterity's sake. Until then, I guess Eveline will have to be the main attraction!

Remember that one time when...

I DYED MY HAIR AND IT WENT BLACK?! Well, only the front was black, the back was brown...the color it was supposed to be. Funny things happen when you run out of dye before your hair is done. I was just reminded of that short time(Jan- mid Feb 2009) I had dark hair when I found an old SD card with a whole bunch of pictures. My hair was like this for less than 2 months, but family members and friends will never let me forget how much they did not like it!

Now I personally like my hair better blond too, but was it really THAT bad??

At least my husband still loved me :).

It's been too long!

So last night Wes kindly reminded me how I have only written on our blog once, the day I created it for our anniversary. I realized that the reason why I haven't blogged is the same reason why I have a hard time writing in my journal. It's just too easy not to. Like the above quote says, laziness always pays off now :). Now I really don't have a bad attitude about blogs, I just always felt like journal writing needed to be something spectacular. Not only that, I felt like I needed to make up for lost time. So I every time I write, I have to make up for the last year! Now you can see why I have avoided it all together...making up for a years time takes too long. Thankfully, with every realization of a wrong practice, there is a way to fix it.

I recently became the Young Women Personal Progress Leader in my ward. As a YW leader, I am also able to earn my PP award. So, for one of my projects, I am determined to keep a blog to record a little bit of our everyday lives. Hence the name of our blog, everyday Ostlers. Looking back, I should have named it every-year Ostlers. I probably still won't write EVERY day, but my goal is to at least write once a week for at least 6 months. Now that I've published my goal, y'all can help me keep it. I'm counting on Wes to remind me more than anyone. I won't be writing long discourses, but I will write something. And hopefully I'll post a lot of pictures. After all, we do have one cute baby!

Here's one of her the day she was born. Here I go, making up for the past year :)....

For now, I have to get back to my other goal for the day, keeping my house clean. I hope blog writing is easier!

Happy Anniversary Honey!!

Welcome to the start (and hopefully not the end) of the Wes and Lisa Ostler family blog. Since we've been married, Wes has asked multiple times why we don't have a blog. He almost started it himself. And by almost, I mean that the thought occurred, but was retracted by the thought of "married boys don't keep their family blog." Maybe he will start posting instead of me....but maybe not. One reason I have not blogged earlier was because I felt like I did not have the time. The other reason was because I did not want to. Plus, whenever I look at people's blogs- let's be honest, I'm a picture looker. I have such a hard time reading long posts! Many times it seems as though a blog is more for the person writing than for the person reading. It is a way to keep a personal history and let your feelings out. I wish it was easier for me to keep a journal. Needless to say, I will probably do more picture posting than writing.

Anyway, you may be wondering what jump started my desire to a
ctually post something. The answer is simple, I love my husband and I had to do something for our anniversary! As small as this is, I know that Wes wanted us to have a blog, so here I go!

Today Wes and I celebrate our first anniversary! It is incredible how fast one year can go by, and how much your life can change. I am even more grateful now for the man I married than I was a year ago. I can only imagine that our love will grow exponentially in the years to come. He has and continues to sacrifice so much for me. He is full of charity and does everything he can to make me happy. He makes me laugh everyday and can always turn a frown upside down. I could not have asked for more. I could never imagine a complete life without Wes. I love you honey!!!

Here are some pictures of that wonderful da
y exactly one year ago!

What a handsome man I married!
